As the credits show the runs were made with nitrous,I intentionally tuned the truck for this, because making over 1000hp on fuel makes for a ridiculous daily driver. I dont care for huge turbos that smoke and have lag all the time. I didnt want to run 80 or 100 lbs. of boost either. So I have a combo I like that is very strong on motor and even better with a bottle. This was all done with some old holset turbos, big injectors, and twin cp3 pumps. Alot of people like #2 only numbers,I like to race,so this is my set up. The #2 purist will likely think this a bottle baby, thats their right. My thoughts on this are,go drive the 1000hp 12v and then drive my truck, see which you would rather be in on a daily basis. On a side note whats the difference between a commonrail with some gas on it and a 12v with water. If I remove the nitrous and just have water, can I claim #2 only? They both use water/nitrous for cooling ,as result of cooler air they both produce more horsepower

Agreed on the Water or N2O statement both are adders. I too like the lower hp on #2 then add the bottle when or if you need it. The 600 area is nice for a driver and poses no issues that I see!

The specs on the motor is all stock with exception on a helix 2 cam w/springs and head studs.

Here's a list of everything I have put on the truck:

Artic Air Twins V2(super40&3b)

Relentless Twin CP3's

Head studs

Relentless 200+hp injectors

TST Powermax

Edge EZ

Performance Diesel Warehouse-NX nitrous kit

FASS 200@50PSI

Hellmann Intercooler

Do you find it neccesary to have that large of a FASS system with those twin CP3's? I had ATS put their twin pumps on and said it was not neccesary to upgrade my FASS 95. I also noticed you still have your Edge EZ on there with those CP3's I was told you dont need that anymore with the twin pumps. Congrats on those numbers by the way. I am hoping to learn something here.

The best numbers I could get on ATS's dyno was right around 570 hp uncorrected at elevation 5200 and 35" tires. Doesn't that seem low?

To answer the fass question, the 95 gph is sufficent. I have no good reason for having a fass 200,I just do. Maybe it will come in handy when I add the third cp3(just kidding). The twin pumps retail for $1900. 00 I think without a pump and $3000. 00 with a pump.

To answer Jim-we havent seen any cylinder wall scuffing due to the nitrous. The only problem we have seen with the common rail is valve seats. I have seen a few trucks have this problem. I dont know what causes this,I have seen trucks with and without nitrous drop seats.

Back in Nov I had the head off to fix some damage and saw just a we bit scuffing but nothing major, my truck does get to see some high EGT's so it doesn't suprise me.

I'm about to be working on another truck as a daily driver, once it's done I may put the 12V and clearence it a little more to handle a harder hit, and put another gate in... . can't get enough air out of the motor.

Jim

700hp daily driver is respectable.

im starting to miss my 06 :( on the plus side, ill be able to afford it when this ones paid for.

Off the subject, RC have you guys seen much cyl wall scuffing from running

N2O.

Jim

Jim,

Not to stray off course here for a second but I think some of the extreme horsepower trucks are exceeding the capabilities of the 15w40 oil that most of us use.

This year I'll be running either straight 20w50 or concoction of 20w50 with some 15w40 mixed in for the benefit of soot control.

Congrats !!!

I wish I was there to see it ! Alicia told me it scared the crap outta her when you dropped the hammer, Congrats on the achievement you and Chris and anyone else that had a hand in it. Cant wait to see her in in Quarter, See ya Later !

BTW Im selling my lil ol 497 hp dodge
