Competition I took the plunge

I finally decided to take the plunge into a more dedicated Mitchell pulling clutch. After 5 pulls on my McLeod street twin, it began to slip on the street pretty bad. A word of advise to anyone trying to save some money, make sure to do it right the first time, it's a lot cheaper in the long run. Now for my question, how many pulls are you guys getting out of the Mitchell cluth before anything slips? I generally come out of the hole at about 2200 rpm. thanks in advance, andy

At 2200rpm, I doubt you will ever wear it out.

I have never slipped mine, it always catches when you want it to.

I can do that now too. BTW,I have yet to have it slip on the street and trust me,there has been some educations around here lately. Its kinda hard on my Coopers though(Man they do make a whale of a cloud of smoke Gene,you are right). Mitchell's clutch rocks,no doubt about it ..... Andy

I just got finished installing it, it's a bit different than my McLeod (more peddle pressure needed) but very nice overall. My first pull with it is tomorrow evening. With the McLeod, I won two of three pulls so far this year, losing only to ITPA trucks last week. Any advise for the new clutch, I've been pulling in low 3rd, thinking about going up to high range 2nd. Based on what I saw at Muncie this year, I can slip this thing as far as needed, correct? thanks in advance, andy

I spoke with Doug at length about the install, he provided me with the ins and outs of the install. I can't say it was the easiest clutch I've installed with all the adjustments, but it's working like a charm. When I slip it on purpose, there's no smell like my other clutches. Now I need to see about getting on EEP's site, they could always use another rookie
