My neighbor, newly transplanted from New York, bought a new F-350 SD last Thursday. Delivered it and him to the Ford dealer today. 438 miles and the transmission locked up. Dealer said it was from a "poorly assembled batch of transmissions" and it will take 2 weeks to get it replaced. Darn shame :) He would have bought a Dodge, but the "seats just didn't feel good" and the salesman told him that the Cummins was 1960's technology. . Better keep the car hauler handy. :-laf :-laf

my buddy bought a ford too... i am waiting for the day he say "can you haul my trailer"... ... .come on he only has 200 miles right now.....

Well... ... ... here's the other side of that story... .

Friend of mine has an 2004 F350 SD with the 6. 0l PowerStroke. I followed him on I70 westbound out of Denver last fall. I was towing a Jeep Cherokee on a heavy flatbed, he was towing his Cherokee in an enclosed trailer (and definitely heavier than I was).

I couldn't keep up. He was easily maintaining 65 mph on a 10% uphill grade.

give it time. after a while that ford will be right on YOUR tail. of course there will be a trailer under him. :-laf

Its kind of funny that your 6 year old truck would not keep up with his new truck. He has like 50 hp and 100 fl/lbs on you just stock to stock.

he's still claiming his truck stock can beat my truck bombed in the 1/4 mile. :-laf
