This is disgusting

On a Saturday morning in the winter, I wake up and decide if I want to snowshoe in the mountains or bicycle in town. Many people gold year 'round. Skying through May in some places. More than anything else, it's the weather that I love the best.

Thats

Thats just the big touristy traps there CJ. You got to get to some of the hidden areas, northern Colo,Grand Mesa,Road of ledgends,Highway between Grand Junction and Cortez is one of my favorites. The eastern slope(high plains) has its beauty to. You just don't see it if you are running down the main highways,in a hurry to get to the hills. I have a freind who told me that my place is a well kept secret. If you go down the highway through this little town, first impression is what a dump. Turn off and go two blocks into town and you change impressions very quickly.

I have got my peice of the mountains and can say honestly, that if anyone with a middle class income that wants a hunk of land in the mountains of Colo, they had better move on it NOW.

The hills up behind Denver and Springs are going for Big Bucks. And to find something reasonable ,you will have to look pretty hard. If the prices of the property in the hills looks reasonable, you might want to look at the job availability in that area(usually zilch). Or you have NO water in the area or rights to get it. To buy anything around the Aspen area, well you had better be a millionare or a movie star! This is major bucks country. REAL people don't live there... My sister inlaw came out from Cal and thought the property prices were just fine. Of course where she is anything under 1 mil is low priced. When I asked her what she was going to do for a living. Well, the swimming pool bizz aint going to fly in that area... .

Lottsa big wigs buying up in the hills and putting BIG summer homes in. This raises the area prices up and is not fair for the working stiff who is trying to buy a peice of paradise. Just for some joker who sees his place once for a week in the summer...

Oh well, what ya going to do. (Turning this into a living)

Our temps have been in the 100s for the last month(sure feels like 100+). The one good thing about the humidity down south,is that if you get a breeze you can stay cool. No humidity,no cool... . But,we get Chinook winds in the winter and it is not unusual to be riding your motorcycle in Jan... ...
