What evidence do you have against this? Just wondering.

it's pretty much common knowledge in the gas-turbo world... hell, it's been common knowledge in the turbo diesel world for so long that nobody even markets a chambered muffler there! they're all a straight-through design...

as Corky Bell (Cartech, etc. ) once said, "the exhaust system on a turbocharged vehicle is none at all!"

in the past 4-5 years we've been seeing a LOT more turbo V8 setups in hot-rodding (I've been riding the wave... I build twin turbo kits! :D ) when the mustang boys started putting twins on their cars, many of those cars were already equipped with Flowmasters as they are VERY popular w/ that crowd... anyhow, these guys were picking up 40-50hp TO THE WHEELS from 400-500hp (again, RWHP) combos by going to a "turbo friendly" muffler!!

buddy of mine picked up over 4 tenths and 4 mph in the 1/4 by unbolting his chambered mufflers on back to back runs at the track... that right there sold me! (watching his times drop from 11. 70's to 11. 25!?? SOLD!! LOL!)

they're designed to make use of pulses in the exhaust stream, and they seem to work alright in non-turbo apps, but there are simply no pulses downstream of the turbine in a turbocharged application, so the muffler becomes an awful restriction

I used Stan's Headers' 4" downpipe, then simply a 4" 90-degree y-pipe ( i purchased from a semi-truck parts distributor) to split it out the side. The pipes exit 1" below my nerf bars and an inch below the mid-ship fuel tank. It is finished off with Geno's 5" monster tips. Don't worry about the fuel tank proximity, as the pipes don't get very hot, since i am going from a single 3" pipe to 5" duals.

I love that stereo exhaust sound quality.
