Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) I want more boost!

I would like to get a little more boost out of my stock turbo. its an 01 auto. What can be done?

You can do a bunch of stuff like, installing a boost elbow, if you really wanted to see results you'd put a boost fooler on the trucks computer as well. You could also get an aftermarket wastegate.

The boost elbow on the 01 is pressed in and looks like it is not replaceable. The ottomind plugs inline with the map sensor so I think it has boost fooling built in. I get about 22-23 psi when I am into the throttle hard Now. I think that is stock level. Will one of those j-hooks work for me, and how do they work? thanks

The J hook holds the wastegate closed. You might consider looking into a used HX 35 in the classified adds on this sight. With so many members upgrading there are often bargains to be had. You will need a boost fooler of some kind or your ECM ill be defueling to keep your boost right where it is now.
