Ted-

That's amazing what you've accomplished with your truck! It's also appreciated that you have posted pics and videos to support what you've accomplished!

I'm totally P-pump illiterate so if my limited understanding is correct, then you've mixed:

1) the high fueling capabilities of a P-pump with

2) the more air flow efficient design of the 24-valves with

3) stronger block (??) design of the common rails with

4) less worry about sub 10 micron fuel filtration

So in other words you've got the best of everything!?

What fuel pressure does a P-pump put out?

jstieger,

in my opinion you are correct. this is why i did it. i could have put a 12v engine in there, but these blocks are better and i wanted something different.

And thats whats awesome, I love different stuff. And it goes to show you, if you can think it, someone can build it...

I would have never thought of a CR engine/P-pump conversion - awesome, just awesome

it took quite a bit of time, i actually did it all myself. well me and some good friends. i am a cnc machinist by trade and thats why i have the resources to do this kind of stuff. it will be back on the road soon and better than ever.

twin turbos were going to go on for the winter but the big charger died as you saw, so we'll wait til spring. also around here you don't want to run twins to pull b/c if they are big enough to do any good you run against haisley schied and others. my truck runs good but my pockets aren't that deep.

ted

I figured that it would bump you up into another class I just didnt know that you werent already in that class with that kind of conversion.

I also am curious as to how much one could tune a CR motor with a little set up such as this https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?t=141354

I think it could bring a new level to the CR performance game with the right combo of mechanical parts.

I'll repeat what numerous others have already ... .....

I keep on watching those clips and giggling like a school girl, saying to myself ... ... AWESOME ... . absolutely AWESOME.

What axles do you have in it ??

its as streetable as you want it to be. depends on how you set it up. i run a big charger so its real laggy but when i was road testing with a small charger it ran great. i like it way better than it was with the cr setup. noooo speed limiter here. it was a lot of work but like ive said no regrets.

truck is down rigt now turbo exploded ill show you what that looks like.

Blown turbo

And it wasn't any better sitting in the truck!! :eek: The whole hood quivered!! Honestly, at first, I just thought it blew an intercooler hose. But then when we popped the hood, looked at it, then the fire started :--) , we knew it was a little more!!! :{

Here is a pic dtrox shot at the exact time it blew :-laf
