This is for the 2001. 5 truck in my signature. I have 7700 miles on it now, and I am ready to sell the old truck. After thirteen months remodeling our house, I am getting ready to so some traveling. I want more power out of the ETH so I can forget about how well my old one ran. Running at about 14,000 lbs gross, I need fifth gear on some of the eastern Tennessee grades in the Knoxville area. The old truck would blow by any of these grades at 70 and still accelerating in top gear with plenty of pedal left.

Given the money chewing activities for the past year, I need to save a little money when I make a single change to get around 75hp gain. Can anyone make a recommendation of what that single power adder might be? I have new Di Pricol boost and EGT guages from Geno's Garage that I hope to get installed in the next couple of weeks.

Edge Comp or DD2s +boost module...

The Egde Comp box delivers smooth power and easily adjusts on the fly. If you do injectors you will still need a boost module. From the way you asked your question it seems to me you will be doing more to your truck as soon as funds will allow. Ask for the pin prick pump wire tap. Sam

EZ

Go for an EZ box. Quick instal and good power gain. I have been very happy with mine. Not sure what you drive like but I have lead foot bigtime and I still saw an MPG gain even hot rodding it around. I got mine from Nowell(Tdr Name HVAC) at Performance Diesel

Have fun

I agree with the Edge EZ and Performance Diesel. While you won't get 75 extra ponies out of the EZ alone, it's a real nice upgrade for the the ETH and you won't be disappointed. If you can trust yourself to keep the levels down until you plan on a clutch upgrade, the Edge comp. or TST Powermax adjustable are both good heavy fuelers (going by member feedback on the Edge comp. and personal experience on the TST).

EZ-Comp Module

I "LOVE" my EZ-Comp See My Signature:D :D Got mine from HVAC a month ago and I've run it hard in every kind of traffic. Couldn't be better [ utill I get trany mods & DD2s]

If you're planning towing alot, you may just want to stick with the EZ. The ETH clutch is pretty weak and 14k lbs is a good load against it.
