That's it. I have heard WAY too many cool things that this program can do. SSSOOOOO, I want the Cummins Insite Pro software. If you, or anybody you know has the program, or can get their hands on it, and is willing to sell it let me know!!!

AJB

Yeah,no one is going to admit here publically that they poses an illeagal program. Or you can always ante up 5k and buy your own.

Lets take a poll and see who will chip in to buy the program, if we all chip in the programm will be really cheap!:D and maybe we can donate it the the TDR and who knows what else?

Ok guys I really don't expect anybody to post that they can get it for me, but an email would be nice, or even a PM. I figured that would be what would happen. So just email, or PM me

MGC,

It can do so much you can't even belive, and I can't tell.

AJB

if its the software i think you are talking about , thats not the problem , its the 1600 buck cable that connects your laptop to the engine controller ...

you guys are on the wrong track. the "Chrysler ECM" is a turd.

you need to spend your time developing a kit to swap out the Chrysler turd for a 200pin Cummins ECM.

then you can visit any Cummins shop across the country and have them flash you for a few beans, no questions asked.

alot can be done that we cant talk about.

how would you like to have 4 PTO speeds to ramp up and down from?

how about Cruise control and Ebrake Interaction? both lower droop and upper droop settings.

idle speed control?

idle shut down, w or w/o PTO enabled?

road speed gov?

those are just a few things the (97 ISB) can do.

the ISC/ISB features are twice that many.

again Chrysler ECM, BAD

Cummins ECM, GOOD. :D

shoot, why don't we just make our own ecm and piggy back it to the VP-44... just use the Chrysler ECM to send data to the PCM for gauges, etc.

the software is no problem???? share the wealth man!!!

I thought I read where the difference is in the $300 and the $1600 connector is one wire that COULD be sodered into it afterwards.

In any case I would still like the software even with out the controler. Just one step towards the final product.

ToddT,

I think that you are on to something with making an adaptor!

AJB

Inline II Adapter

this little goodie contains the incryption that enables the user to change settings within the ECM. The incryption operates on a series of checksums after each data packet is delivered to the ecm. The adapter can also be reflashed any time Cummins decides to change their Incryption algorythm... ie when people like us want to screw with their stuff... it is not as easy as just one wire

Here is a thought. I know for a fact that there is enough knowledge in the TDR membership (just take a look at who considers themselves the NW Bombers) to make our own ECM. I am not even talking about the people that are making money by selling add on fueling boxes.

Come on people, there are two parts to the VP-44 that control everything..... timing and fuel volume. We could bypass the Microcontroller PCA in the pump and controll both parameters in the pump directly using a custom ECM... . thereby eliminating the need for J1939... . this would be a performance application only..... all accesories like exhaust brakes would have to be addressed seperately.

Come on people!

I'm with ya up until the part where...

I like the idea of taking the 200 pin ECM instead of the 100 pin. But that throws the PCM off. The adaptor won't work because The PCM wont understand the Cummins ECM, and vice versa. So what do we do?

Just go right past the VP computer right? I don't really think it would work because you would have to figure out the binary codes that the VP sends to the silonide to open and close. Am I makeing any since? I think I'm just babaling and wishing that someone will just send me the dumb program, or I could find it on Bearshare.

DF,

I think that you and me are convinced that there is SOME WAY to play with the software, it's just getting the $$$, and reinventing the wheel if you know what I mean.

Heck I would be happy at this point to get the software Edge uses to make their COMP box so I could play with my own box.

Solenoids do not operate on binary

tx , there is only so much fuel the vp44 can be made to flow pre electronics , that the reason for post electronics . and you can only go so far post electronics , i think the number is 65% over stock sends all the fuel to the injectors , nothing back to the tank . the only way to get more fuel is by modifying the internals of the VP , and it will only make another 50 hp or so . if you want huge fuel you need to switch to a P pump . but then there is the next problem , and this is the biggie , EGT , i'm at that hurdle with 409 to the ground .

That's just the start of my problems man...

Mopar,

I would love that P-pump on my truck. EGT's are not the biggest problems, it's $$$. Being a college student with a truck note for a CTD doesn't leave much $ for bombs.

DF,

So keep talking man, your music to my ears(, and confidence to a lost cause maybe?).

hey Tex... everything I know is from asking the right questions... . and knowing where to look. It is all out there, and you are in a great place to start... SCHOOL! There are a few News groups that cater to CAN and its diferent protocols. GOOGLE. COM is a great search engine to find things.

Geez,

Don't we have a couple members with Freightliners for their campers? Naturally they must have ISB's in them, so ... ...

Take one during the off season and make it work with the DC system. Probably no need to transplant the engines, just make long enough cables to try and run the 'real' ISB from a ram and then distribute the lessons learned to all.

Or do the capitalistic thing and sell the knowledge in the form of a kit... .

:)
