Okay,

Just finished a nice upgrade this weekend with an ATS 3000 Turbo, MBRP 4" single exhaust in 409, Edge Juice with Attitude, ATS ArcFlow intake and ATS exhaust maifold, and a FASS 150 gph. Awesome change in the truck.

Now looking for opinions about a cold intake, injectors, transmission, water inection, etc, etc... .

Goal is well over 500 HP and ? torque numbers? More the better, but want to maintain good daily driving chracteristics at the same time, at least as much as possible :-laf

Appreciate all opinions and advice.

I didnt see any mention of a transmission upgrade, do you plan to do that? I have never been happier than with my Goerend equipment, we did some other goodies in the transmission as well as what is mentioned in my sig. Dave is a great guy and will talk your ear off about transmissions and knows our trucks and trannys inside and out.

Not a lot of good diesel places anywhere near me in NC. A good shop down in SC is an ATS dealer and will likely continue to work with him for a transmission upgrade. My buddy our in Montana has lots of very good feedback from guys running ATS trannies and sounding good to me...

Any feelings about injectors? 100-150hp vs 200hp? Smoke??

DDP sells outstanding injectors. I am fortunate to live 5 miles from their shop. Lenny is a great guy and knows his business.

Check the last 3 or 4 issues of the TDR, he has been written/consulted about injectors in them.

Will start filling the piggy bank. Anybody used an ATS transmission or torque converter? What about a transmission controller module that allows setting up when the TC locks and at what set points? Any idea welcome. .

Off to a nice start, but... IMO, turbo will be too small @ 500+hp. trans is a MUST. Choose a vendor you are comfortable with from the top names. Dont be cheap, or you'll be doing it again! +150hp sticks will get you to 500. I got to 450 with 100s. I have 250s now but havent dynoed yet. If its a toy, just go big. if it needs to tow or have good DD manners keep mods mild or go overkill and de-tune. ;)

Farmboy is on the other side of the state from me, and I know folks down in Charleston, SC- and the guy down there came highly recommended and an ATS dealer - He workedon my truck while I hung out with some friends over a weekend and got me back home without even having to burn any of my military leave days - so good fit for me.

I plan for a twin turbo, will add the ATS 5000 and should have plenty of turbo with the 3000/5000 combo.

I do plan to drive my truck often, not a just a toy, so 150 injectors are sounding like upper limit to me, but I'm a HP junkie, so I'd love to hear more folks' feelings about the 150-200+ range and what kind of daily driving experiences are out there with these type injectors... .

Thanks for all the input.

With good twins the 250s are DD useable. I tow 5-8k with no issues. Check my sig. truck is good for mid/low 12 sec. passes DD/tow rig. Not crazy, just fun. Over 150hp stix you will start to loose MPGs though. figure 1mpg per 50hp over +100s. so if you got 19 with a 100 you'll get 16 with a 250 if you drive the same.

That's awesome! Thanks for info - easy to digest. I am going to get my transmission swapped first, then a twin and injectors - then it's Mustangs for dinner!
