Sounds like Ford fans to me..... Get a 6. 0 & remember the blue Dodge with the Cummins decal in the "back" window is me... . in the distance!

Definately not a Ford fan, check the sig, I dont worry too much about any 6. 0's walkin on me on the street.

I am gonna admit that the 6. 0 engines run pretty good, but I have driven them & I don't see what everyone is saying about them. They don't seem all that fast at all. My mason owns one & it honestly [no joke] has been in the shop more than he has driven it. It was in 3 times for cracked heads, about 10 times for bad injectors & blown head gaskets. He actually had to buy a 77 chevy truck off of me to have something reliable. He is in a lawsuit trying to get a new truck/refund, but Ford won't cover it because it is owned by a business. It is a 06 model & I won't even consider when he offered to trade me for my 99 dodge even up. I work for American Homes in Morgantown & they own a few 6. 0 trucks... . the owner traded his dodges in on new fords & the guys all say that they want their old dodges back. The Fords break down too much.

I agree completely, I have two friends with 6. 0's both have now had headgaskets and studs put in (and it is a huge pain) One of them had cracked heads that had to be replaced at 20K, they crack between the Glow Plug and valves, it should not matter what you do with or to those trucks it is obviously a design flaw. The one with cracked heads had a few things done to it and no warranty so we had to find some heads as he is his own warranty station now. I almost have him talked into a common rail transplant which would make that ONE AWESOME TRUCK.

you must make more money than I do because I'm not gonna beat on my truck like that just to beat some phord at a stoplight! :)

Ok, build boost with an auto a few times here and there and you'll snap an input shaft here and there eventually.

I'm with ya on the beat on the truck part. It's retarted to use your daily driver and pull 2000rpm holes every change you get. I don't do it all that often, just when I know it's going to be a good race.

If you really wanna beat that ford on a hole shot, that's how you gota do it with a manual. If you think other wise, you better have lots more HP then the other guy.

Roger that!

Also realize that I'm operating that if the guy was spooling at the line and making a bunch of noise, he probably had at least a mild programmer on there...

6. 0 + programmer = a handful off the line for a 6sp CTD!!!!! and honestly, not worth my time and potentially broken driveline parts! LOL They can come get a taste on the highway if they want though :D

I agree with Forrest on the last statement. My buddy has a chipped 6. 0. I'll beat him in a drag race, but not by the next stoplight.

6.0 vs. cummins

My dad has a 03 6. 0 dually. Ive put a SCT on it with ID Race tune, it makes a mean combo. From a stoplight it would take a lot to beat it. Its always fun to hop in his and drive around. The first time i put it on, i broke the tires loose from a stop building only about 10psi of boost.

We have the edge drag comp on our 01 six speed dually CTD. And it stomped a BMW 328. i. I would go with edge or TST

ive ran multiple 6. 0s with tunes and all diffrent setups, the fastest with a set of "custom injectors" Nitrous sct race and some how a edge juice with attitude, and i still made him wish he bought a dodge... he's a good friend of mine. . just traded for a 05 dodge ;)

a buddy of mine has a 04 6. 0 250 4wd. bully dog downloader , 4 inch exhaust, cold air intak and runs low 14's on 37" tires. not to dang bad id say. his auto trans hates him though, the dealer has replaced like four of them so far  I wont drag race him but am confident i would out pull him any day :-laf

That's a shame. I know how you feel though. Before I got my edge & some sticks the buzz bombs (Honda Civics, etc) used to walk me big time. But ever since the Edge Comp, Don's F-1. 6s & DTT I'm eating, Mustangs, GTOs, and the like out of the hole and all the way up till they (or I) realize fuel is just being wasted :-laf :-laf :-laf

My friend must have got a Freak transmission, he has an o5 with the Torque shift transmission and sledpulled all last year putting 620 to the wheels and has not broken it. We talked to John at Floor it about DTT doing Ford Trans for him. They say the torque shifts are junk and can not beleive his has lasted.

Your buddy is lucky, I know people who have had thier warranty denied for air filters! Ford is the worst about trying to get out of warranty work.

Wow must have been some crappy drivers, I am not a FORD fan but I do know that a 24V with an EZ couldnt hang with a stock 6. 0 (and those are rare)

HEY JUST SAW YOU RECOMMEND THE MIDWEST DIESEL SITE, WELL I JUST BOUGHT SOME STANADYNE FOR MY RIDE AND WOW WHAT A DIFFERENCE IT HAS MADE IN MY BABY :)

the holley blue? does anyone have a list of extra parts to install that on a 99? i need one

I have installed many of them, but all in different ways. I like the setup that uses the stocker in conjunction with the holley. It gives you 25psi idle & is working well on my brothers 98. 5. I just cut the line close to the fuel tank & mounted the pump on the inside frame rail with self tapping screws. Then get some 3/8 nipple fittings that screw into the holley pump & hook rubber hoses from the nipples to the metal lines & clamp them down. Hook the power wire from holley into the power wire running to the stock pump, but make sure you use a relay mounted on the firewall. Just ground the ground wire from the holley to the frame on the bolt for the holley pump & make sure you get a good connection. This system will cost you $110. for the holley @ advance auto & $10 for 3/8 hose, nipples & clamps.

25psi is too much for the VP44, it will cause premature failure. You shouldn't put more than 20psi to it, unless you are running some really serious mods.
