I was really hoping the front shocks on my new 15 in sig would be good shocks and perform well since they are Nitrogen and US Made. After having a really nice riding 11 Dually it was very annoying to have the constant vibration after hitting a bump in the road. Don't know how else to explain it it was a reverberation i guess. So I said screw it and bought Bilstein's from Geno's and threw them on the front. I would have done the rears but Bilstein does not make a shock for the rear air ride yet.

Bottom line if you have a 13 and newer 3500 SRW or DRW spend the money your truck will ride MUCH better!

Thanks for the tip, and no part number?

GEEZE do I have to do everything.:roll eyes:

They are listed for the 13 and 14 3500's on genosgarage.com not sure why they have not changed their application but they are the correct ones for the 15's.

BILSTEIN 4600 SHOCK (YELLOW/BLUE) - FRONT ('13-'14) 4WD 3500 $84.95 Sorry no part number and I chucked the boxes.

Now I need to find out what the proper Bilstein's are for the new MobileSuites MorRyde IS suspension.

I was wondering if you had bought the 5100's or 4600's but didn't want to pile on. Supposedly they are valved the same and it is just the length/travel that is different. I have 4600's all around on my 2500 (with standard coil rear).

I am wondering if the 5100's would allow more droop and whether that would be good (maybe allowing more suspension travel) or bad (that additional travel possibly twisting/warping suspension bushings beyond their design limits, leading to premature wear).

Well im not sure which part of the made in usa nitrogen charged made you thing they would ride different, Where they are made does not really matter but the valving internally is what counts. All shocks have a nitrogen charge, the OEM ones are not an IFP shock like the Bilstiens or most Foxes but still have a nitrogen charge. The factory springs have a super high spring rate and the stock shocks do not have enough rebound control which is where the problem is.

The shock is what limits down travel and keeps the coil from falling out, you do not want to go with a longer shock with the stock coil. The bushings can handle it just fine but the coil could literally fall out of the truck with a longer shock and for the most part the up travel between ride height and the bump stop is where majority on on road ride will come from.

Was this in reply to something I wrote?

Nope, the OP said he had high hopes for the shocks because they are nitrogen charged and made in USA, just wanted to let him know all shocks have a nitrogen charge to prevent cavitation and whats inside matters more then where they are made.

My "hopes" were raised because most all factory shocks are POS and made in Brazil.

Now if Bilsiein would make a shock for the rear of my air ride.
