I know some of that canned expanding foam is capable of doing damage if you're not careful... you have to add it slowly and make sure it doesn't expand too much.
I can see it now. Fill up your dash with expanding foam then have to take off the dash to get to a part for R&R (which sooner or later is gonna happen). That stuff would be pure heck to get out if you could even get the dash off to get to it.
No joke, I know a guy who buys an old International Scout. Goes to replace the wire harness from the dash to the engine compartment and what does he find? Expanding foam in several body openings! Like in the kick panels where the door bolts are, etc. The previous owner must have been trying to seal out wind noise or something.
Good job! Making a mental note of that for myself. One squeak I fixed was the transmission shift linkage that goes from the side of the trans to the frame. Heard it throughout the driver side of the cab like a door was wiggling or something. I lubed it with lithium grease and it was gone.
