I would like air ride on my 3500

I have a 2010 3500 Dually and I would like to have a better ride.
If I put air bags in it will that help
I want to add a Truck Camper to it but when I am running with out it I would like a softer ride.
Any info would be appreciated.

I have the Air Lift system air bags on my 08 2500 Mega cab. I had the in cab controller first but the solenoid on that failed and I replace with the Wireless Air Controller Gen 3 kit this May. This is much easier to adjust pressure and can be done on the fly. I also used a Painless wiring fuse block makes installation much easier for a fused circuit.

I run 10 PSI empty and what every it takes to level the truck when a load is applied.

I would start by running 40psi rear unloaded and 80 front for best tire wear and ride.

If you are planning to haul a truck camper, you should consider Torklift Stableloads. they are the best product I've found for eliminating sway because of a high center of gravity load in the truck bed from passing trucks, cross wind, and uneven roadways. With my heavy 11'5" slide in truck camper with a slide out and an on board generator, I don't use or need air bags. (Check my signature)

We've taken the overload spring pack completely off our trucks for years. Even taken a main leaf out too.
Add an air bag system, drop the rear tire pressure and you'll have a surprisingly good ride unloaded.
Loaded: Just air the bags & tires and you are good to go!

When removing the springs do you have to put in a spacer or is it simply a matter of taking up the slack with the shackle bolts?

Usually we just "chop saw" the ends off the leaves and reinstall the center section over the axle. U-bolts will stay the same length. Or if you're wanting to lower the rear to match the front just pull them out and call it good.

Well, we've been putting air bags on and removing leaves for over 35 years....so I'd guess a dozen trucks over the years.
