IBM Thinkpad 380Z Monitor Problem

The last guy that had this POS messed with the monitor settings and now I can not expand the display to fit the whole screen. I have the correct driver. The screen is 13 inches, while the display is only 10. 5 inches. Screen area is 800x600 and is as high as it will go. This small display is hard on the eyes, and I want to get it fixed.
