I'm back guys!! Oo. Let me tell ya. I had never seen an ice storm like this, not ever! I have environmentally friendly "wood heat" :D so I was kept toasty, but not the same for others :( Town folks lined up for hours waiting to purchase space heaters that had not even been delivered yet

"Most" everyone now has electric. Phones are still out though.....

To all you guys sending me PM's and asking quetions in your posts and via e-mail... please be patient as it may be some time untill I can get back to U all. I WILL respond in time. Tugboat, good thing you didn't head this way for your engine mods! We'd been work'n by candle light.

I had lots of time to study up on our 5. 9 Here are some interesting facts of KSB function on our VE pump.

Wax Motor style-Pre '91... ... ... .

160°F nornally open colant temp. switch

Open below 160 and closed above 160

Electrical Solenoid '91 and up... ... .

90°F normally closed manifold temp. switch

Closed below 90 and open above 90

Engine CPL 1579 no resistor

Engine CPL 1351 with 3 ohm resistor (mounted at rear corner of intake manifold cover.

The wax motor or the solenoid, control a pressure relief valve mounted across from the motor/valve in the KSB housing.

I have more specs but this is long enough.....

i just loaned my generator out to a friend in cinnamon lake (between cleveland and lodi). most of the town is out! he told me that at 2:30 in the morning, he could hear trees cracking and falling like rifle shots about every 5 seconds.

good luck getting life back to normal.

Ice storms suck... . we have everything iced up right now... . but I think it stopped raining.

We had a very bad ice storm 2 years ago... trees were popping all night like lil red described. I was lucky. . only lost power for a few hours... some were out for days though.

Hopefully things will get cleaned up out there quickly.

we got about 4 to 5" over last night, of pretty wet snow. fortunately, we haven't lost any trees or power here. the look of the trees around here is absolutely beautiful. right off a christmas card.
