ID help on JD hi-cycle engine

Anybody know what this is?



It is a late 60s to early 70s John Deere Hi-Cycle. Has a little 3 cylinder diesel in it. The side of the block has a JD serial plate and says "made in france"



I was just curious what it was and what I needed to look at to see if it could be adapted to an automotoive trans of some type.



Just have the wild hair of sticking it in an old toyota pickup I have sitting in the weeds.

Can you give more details? Pretty vague. Is there a model number on the plate? Are we talking about a self-propelled sprayer or a tractor? Model number of the machine?



I'm drawing a blank at the moment. Although, me going to bed would be a good idea. :-laf
