Id of small cummins/ onan engine

Can anyone tell me about a smaller 4A 2. 3ltr cummins/ onan engine. It is not turboed, it has a rotary type pump and as it is right now it has an adapter to mount up a C6 transmission. It does run and drive in a bag tractor ( was used to pull the bag carts around the airport). How much HP and Tq does it have and can a turbo be added to it. I was thinking of maybe an older Dodge dakota or maybe a smaller truck or even a car might be nice to have this engine in, if it has or can be made to have 75-100 hp. Also can the adapter be used on any other engines.

They were available in 3,4 and 6 cyl models, some with turbos. They are Onan built engines, known as the Onan "L" series or the Cummins "A" series. This was at the time when Cummins bought Onan. Good little engines but not very common or powerful. The Serial number will tell you what power they are. If you want to put a Cummins into a Dakota use a 3. 9 (120hp and 300 lbs tq ) Shadrach

Acording to a salesmen at Cummins NW in Portland the A is a bare to get

parts for so id stay away from it or use it as not very much use application
