I emailed Sanden about the additional condenser and this is the reply I recieved today.

Should not be a problem as many of SD7H15 are teed off to second evap on duel systems whereas additional oil and Freon are added

Soooo... looks like we might be just a little bit closer to making it happen. Im wondering if I might be able to make my own heating/cooling system using just the parts that are there under the console. Basically all I would need would be a box with a blower & a condenser in it. Condenser wouldn't have to be huge.

I also have a Mega Cab and it takes a while to get comfortable in the North Carolina summer months! My wife's Expedition also has the two condenser system... . and I had wondered myself about a smaller version of that for our trucks.....

I know this is a really old post, but i read through all the posts and did not see a final outcome on this. Craig did you ever finish the project? If so did it work? I'd like an update. I have a 2007 6.7 2500 (6) door custom MEGA MEGA CAB truck with bad blend doors. Currently ordered the replacement kit from blend door usa which makes the aluminum blend doors, also got the aluminum drivers, going to replace the heater core and air condenser. Paying someone to do the job, because of the time and money around $700.00. This is my first attempt to try to cool down the 6 door truck, we just bucked it up last summer due to us just buying the truck used set us back a pretty penny and now this year we want to cool the entire 6 door truck down including the 3rd row. Our custom truck did not come with additional AC you only get the front dash and the rear center console nothing else. And it doesn't blow good at all on the front and behind the console. Getting no air. Were hoping this does the trick, if not next year we would invest more money in a system as described by Craig. We have no choice we have 4 little kids in car seats that are dying of heat stroke every time

The Chevy full-size vans could be fitted with either OEM or aftermarket rear A/C, see:

Chevy Van AC repair

By the way, did you mean to post 7 different pictures? I would love to see some interior shots of that truck.

I would do a roof mount RV AC unit, that is about the best you can get with the space available. Might take some extra support but it should work great.

The rear ac unit you add should have it's own expansion valve and should not be a problem. Both the Caravans and durangos and B vans have had rear ac with out any complications. The same with the aftermarket rear Ac systems that were used for the full size van conversions, they were so popular the factory shipped vans with ac plumbing that had fittings to easily connect the rear plumbing
