What they said, but also... i remember going to Dinosaur Nat'l monument in Utah - amazing place. Wife + I took a trip this year to Grand Teton + yellowstone nat'l Parks, up to Glacier, across to North cascades nat'l Park, then Olympic Nat'l Park, down the coast that was as spectacular as any park! Coast of south Oregon, Cape Blanco was a GREAT RV park. Other trips Mount Ranier - we both said Wow! Crater Lake is great, Sequoia/Kings Canyon is good. Donner state park on I-80 near Truckee,Ca is interesting history, just before getting into Sacramento.

We have a 24-5N Arctic Fox 5th wheel - great size, easy to tow. We got it used, good price. It sounds like you might make good use of an RV - we usually use ours within 200mi from home.

It looks like I could have more than enough to do just on that northern route to fill the time we are going to be on the road. Thanks for the great ideas.

While in the Black Hills, don't miss the Crazy Horse monument. I also endorse the Rafter J Bar near Hill City. Excellent park and centrally located. If you are going to Yellowstone from there, plan to stop in Cody, Wyoming and visit the Buffalo Bill museum. The Ponderosa RV park is nice and within walking distance to the museums. West Yellowstone is the place I like to stay. Grizzly RV is the best park in the area. If you are thinking of the Grand Canyon try the North Rim. Not as crowded as the South Rim and you can also visit Bryce Canyon National Park and Zion National Park while in the area. Best of luck on the trip - you will really enjoy it!

Not sure if Bald Eagles are something you would be interested in or not. Wabasha Minnesota has an awesome Eagle center that is really a must see if in the area. Check out a map, it's not far off fron 90 just up Hwy 61 North on the Mississippi River, Very scenic drive. Drive 61 north to Red Wing and see lots of small town River Cities then Hwy 58 South to Hwy 52 to Rochester and get back on 90 West. Also a State Park in Frontenac to camp at with great hiking trails on the bluff tops for some great views of the river valley

Listen to Grizzly,

Alaska is the last "great American road trip". Well worth it if you have time.

Be sure to take fishing equipment. We fill a freezer with Salmon every time we go. (Red's in July and Silver's in Sept. )

Go for it.

About 7 years ago we went to a large TDR meet in Cheyenne and made the best of it. Do not miss "Cheyenne's Frontier Days".
The daily Grand parade and day time rodeos were the best. I did not enjoy the PBR rodeo held at night. To many bright lights and loud bass. It was set up for TV, not the audience.
