Ideas for a MN Charity Dyno Day

Chris has a point there... also, how does that work warranty wise? I would hate to see someone donate their time installing injectors, only to have one fail. . and not have made any money on the deal, and have to "donate" time to fix it, make sense?

My parents suggested, as things got bigger, with more of a "spectator" type of crowd... . Set up a stand with 2 Sloppy Joes and a handful of chips for $4. All $ is donation.



If we did something like that, I would really like to get a portable dyno and hold it at a Dodge dealer somplace. The only good Portable Dyno in the area wants WAY to much $ for it. I also really think he wouldn't be AT ALL flexable as far as funding/donations go.

Josh, I have been looking at maybe buying a used portable dyno if I find one and the price is right and its not a hunk of crap. If, and I stress "if", I get one I would be happy to donate its time for a day. So with that said if anyone sees one for sale somewhere please drop me a message on it. Im going to look at one in Ann Arbor MI at the end of next month and will keep you posted Josh.

We should really start talking to some of the sponsors of this website and see what they would donate for door prizes to the people who pay to run the rollers. Just have everyone who runs the rollers put their name on a slip and we draw instead of using highest numbers for top prizes. Sell tckets to win an item... ie: 1 dollar each or 6 for 5 dollars. I would personally buy 100 dollars worth of tickets. Then you have two people up front... one draws tickets with a name after the other person picks out a prize to give away. We sold about 3000 dollars in tickets for our annual firemans dance and they have all kinds of cheap gifts and exspensive ones... its the gamble you make buying tickets but the more you buy the better chance you have of winning something you really want. Just an idea!

As far as the service ideas. I guess I wasn’t thinking along the warranty related line. More along the line of putting on an exhaust system or an edge box, or cold air intake. I only mentioned my oil pan as it is the only thing right now that I need someone that has done it b4, and knows the tricks to get it done easy. Also I was thinking it would be more of a guidance thing where the owner of the truck is doing some hands on and getting assistance/reassurance of an experienced member or have the extra set of hands needed to get it done right.

I’m in the middle of possibly becoming a dealer for a company that makes cold air intakes and are starting to dabble in stainless exhaust. We are working out a deal right now to promote the product. They are negotiating making a stainless system for the 2nd gen trucks and need a test market. We are thinking 15 systems are to be made (minimum # for a run at factory) and are going to sell them for a discounted rate to see if they gain interest. If things go right here, it could open the doors for our charity. Or at least I hope

An example..... I attend a informal carshow each year in May near New Richmond, WI where all proceeds go to the American Cancer Society. Registration is $20/vehicle, and the checks are made out directly to the American Cancer Society. Food is also included for the $20. 00.



You guys have some great ideas here. Crime Fighter has a great point... I have the knowledge to do basic things but I don't have the confidence for more major things. I would pay for you guys to "help" the ole '92 :-laf
