Ideas? - Want my cargo light to go on when I hit unlock on my alarm

Anyone re-wired their cargo light to go on when you hit unlock on your factory alarm?



I have a 2001. 5 and would prefer the cargo light not to go on when I am driving and need to turn on the dome light...



ideas?

My cargo light comes on with my remote unlock feature on the 2004. Not sure if it comes on when I turn the dome lights on from interior... . I'll have to check that out.

I added a relay to my cargo light circuit. When the relay is not enrgized the dome light works throught the normally closed set of contacts. When the cargo light comes on it opens the contacts and the dome light shuts off.

I am not horrible at electrical... but I am no electrical engineer...



So this relay that you put in you didn't have to tear apart the roof of the cab?



Where did you put install the relay?



And is there some sorta special type of relay that i should request at Radio Shack?

I put a 5 pin relay right behind the headlight switch. I did not tear the headliner down to do this. If I were more computer litierate, I would post a wiring diagram. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to do this. Go to anyplace that does stereo intallations and ask for a 5 pin relay with a socket or pigtail .
