Is there a way to id a locking diff (rear) from the outside? If its any value my tag has an LS on the end.

Funny thing about the posts, a little looking (see brake drums) clued me into checking the build sticker. OK, so I've got limited slip #ad

I just changed to 75-90 synthetic oil. It's Mobil 1. Says on the bottle that it works in limited slip diffs. Dodge manual says to add the friction modifier, do I still need to add this with synthetic?

I'd try it first without, slowly turning to feel if the rear end chatters. If it does add a bottle of the modifier. It really depends on how you want the diff to slip, keeping in mind clutch wear... .

You will probably need at least one bottle. or you will feel it slipping a tire on every 90 degree or more turn really bad on wet surfaces. Only use the chy brand made of some kind of whale oil or something, but it works some of the other brands of trucks have found it to be very good stuff. I used amsoil and one bottle tried it with out but it was grabby, not good.
