Now my rant. I hate the morons/idiots who are in the hammer lane and won't let you over when there is law enforcement pulled over with a vehicle on the shoulder. There is a state law here in MN that all vehicles must move into the hammer lane when law enforcement has a vehicle pulled over. As a precaution, I move into the hammer lane whenever a vehicle is sitting on the shoulder. I don't want to be responsible for hitting some ignorant person changing a tire being oblivious to traffic whizzing by.
As for the truckers, I always give them as much room as possible, and deliberately slow down when they pass so they can get back in. I would say 9 out of 10 times they thank me with either the hazards or clearance lights when I blink my headlights at them to get back in.
As for the tailgaters, they will get SMOKED :-laf
