my idle is erratic any where from 750 one time to 1100 the next. also have to give sum throttle to start it in keep it runnin for the first min or so. anybody got any ideas? it just started doin it after replacing my throttle shaft o-ring.

thanks.

When you get the high idle, make sure the throttle is touching the idle stop. Your accelerator linkage could be sticking a little. I had this problem when I replaced my VE. This wouldn't explain your other problem, but it pays to check the easy stuff first.

I'll leave the internal pump stuff to the resident experts.

More to what Chris said, check the idle screw itself. I had the problem of my idle being low one day, and high the next. I figured out that the locknut on the idle set screw wasnt tight. My only explaination of what happens from there is that if you goose it, the vibrations are enough to move that idle screw around.

Whats even more, is it always seemed like if it ever was low, it was when I first started it up. My only explaination here, is that when you shut it down, theres once again that vibration that makes the screw move, but now the throttle lever is being pushed against it so the only place for it to go is backward.

I tightened down that locknut, and never had the problem again.

ill give it a check tomorrow. could i be that lucky!?! Also im getting ready to change to 3. 55 gears and was going to change my turbo housing as well, from the 21cm3 to either a 16 or 14 cm3. pro /cons to it??16 or 14 better? i do alot of towing at 4000ft elevation on up.

ive been looking into housings aswell. from what pete, and matt and others have told me... if your gonna be doing much towing, dont go any smaller than a 16cm. the smaller housings can create too much pressure that can blowup the pin-wheel or even worse. the 16cm will provide good drivability with out towing, and still give towing improvments. this is all second hand, but in my personal opinion, i think the sorces were top notch :D

everything looks good on the idle screws, double checked the screws and jam nuts. guess ill c what it does in the morning. how much of ur fuel screw is out behind the jam nut? i run mine in till tight then backed it off 3/4 a turn, from the jam nut to the top of the screw is

. 597 installed. sound about right? thanks for the help!!!

Pete you crack me up! :-laf
