Just a quick question..... I had my idle at 950rpm in park well within tha last couple of weeks it dropped down to 750. I havent had a chance to check it out but what would cause it to drop like that? What would I check besides the adjustment screw on the back side of pump?

The contact points on the idle adjustment just wear and lower the idle. Don't ask me why some do it all at once but it seems to be to case a lot of the time.

contact points in the middle where are we talking Bill?

rj, the place that wears is the end of the adjustment bolt and the place that the bolt contacts the throttle arm lever. It's a somewhat sensitive adjustment, doesn't take much wear to lower the idle.

I would check the adjustment bolt and jam nut to see if they are tight.

I just adjusted my idle tonight. With the jam nut loose, the bolt turned very easy. One full turn on the bolt makes a huge diference in idle speed.
