Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) idle question

My first post! Been hanging around the tdr for awhile. Finally the light bulb came on and I signed up! The problem-When at operating temp my truck will idle high around 1000rpm until it's under around 5mph. Then it will settle back down to the norm of 750rpm. It does't matter if the truck is down shifted or just pushing in the clutch coasting. I'm still learning about all the fancy elecronics on the 24v. Any input would be great.

Mine does the same thing. As I slow down for a stoplight the engine kicks down at 10mph almost on the dot. I think it is some computer flash they put in. Mine has the in-tank LP and a new injector pump... if you have the in-tank pump it might be something to do with that or some coputer flash when (if) they put in a new injector pump. There are several flashes available, the way I understand it. Dunno if that helps. I'm sure others will chime in.

Did have the computer reflashed after a new Vp-44 and the fass. So guess this is the norm now? Thanks for the 411.

Mine does it too and I like it. I find it easier to double clutch.
