Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Idle RPM increased

All of a sudden my engine idles at 900, but only after it warms up. I installed a 3k gsk about 80,000 miles ago. There is no binding in the linkage, no broken springs, cable is smooth. I know the linkage is going to the stop because my Jacob's exhaust brake has a micro-switch mounted on the gear case cover and it works. I'm not sure I even have the original gov springs any more so taking the gsk out isn't an option, plus I think that if the springs were the problem the idle would be high all the time and also the rpm would be fluctuating. Any ideas?

is your idle screw tight with the lock nut?. . it could loosen up and increase the speed a little?. .
