my truck idles around 750 to 800 rpm. i swear it used to idle around 900 way back when...



when it idles low like that, it vibrates. when i force the rpm up with the pedal, it smooths out quite a bit. what's going on here? is there an adjustment that i need to make, or is there something that needs fixing to get the idle to go back to where it used to be?
 
Common problem. The stop wears a little so the idle decreases. You need a 10mm box end wrench. Feel around the back end of the pump until you find a screw with a lock nut on it. Loosen the lock nut with the wrench. Use your left hand to work the throttle linkage to get pressure off the screw. You should be able to turn the screw with your fingers. Adjust the idle with the transmission in D and AC on. When you get it like you want tighten the lock nut.
