I just had a new transmission installed and had my idle turned up (950-975rpm) from 550-600. Well I know that 950 is ideal but other than having AC at idle is there any advantage? I don't like it; truck idles at 35mph and really slams into gear form neutral.

I have noticed truck starts easier and doesn't die if I back off throttle quickly but will it hurt truck for me to turn it back down?

I hear you, I set my auto at 800 with a/c on in D, no problem. Still don't need to use the pedal for starting. Like the 5 speed at 950 though.

The only thing it will hurt is if the truck is left idleing for very long in cold temps. I turned mine down to about 550 and like it better, it will fire right off if I touch the loud pedal at the same time. With the stacks it sounds so sweet at idle:D
