Engine dies when coming from park to reverse. I was told this is common with a 12 valve. When the truck gets older the idle sometimes drops below 600 rpm's causing it to die when putting it into reverse. This person said the idle should be at least 600 to 800 rpm. So just how do you adjust the idle?

If you do a search you will find plenty of info and some pictures that will help. I believe it takes a 10mm wrench and I have to feel for the bolt which has a jam nut on it. It is on the rear of the pump.
Low idle can also cause hard starting in 12Vs. Good luck.
