I adjusted the valves last night. The valves didn't seam like they were really off as far as shimming. But I did losen them and shimmed them properly. Torqued them and rechecked shimming. Well my idle went from aprox 750 to just under 1000 rpm. Anybody else have this happen?

Back in September I bumped up the idle. Now looks like I'll have to down it a few rpm.

If you are sure the linkage didn't get moved, then I'd think the adjustment was needed and now you have correct compression.

I bet the perf and mileage improve with it.

Today I decided to adjust the idle down some. I grab a 10mm wrench. I climb up and losen the lock nut. Then backed off the screw. Nothing happened? I moved the linkage down and the r's dropped but soon as I let go. It came back up. Well now kinda stumped:rolleyes:  . So I disconnected the linkage and the r's dropped to the point that I almost killed the motor. So I just remembered that I installed my high idle solenoid. I back the solenoid off. Hooked up the linkage and set the idle. Good to go. :)
