This is my opinion.

I don't know how many tensioner assemblies I have changed, however it's not due to a bad bearing. The tensioner is simply worn out. The belt runs off center and will soon begin to wear out rapidly. You guys already know that.



There is no way I would ever replace the bearing/pulley assembly only. Waste of money when you will need to replace the entire assembly while on I70 Westbound :mad:



Yes. I get a very loud squeal from my belt when I shout down.



Yes. I buy near all my parts from NAPA or Cummins.

Plastic vs metal Idler Pulley

Plastic has lower temp and lower rotating mass and really the problem is with the bearing not the pulley.
 
I don't usually call Napa but I did on that occasion and seems like it was about $40

Proto I always call my napa guy first but he didn't show the assembly for my truck. Dig back and give us a number for that part. Forty dollars is an excellent price. I want a couple on hand.
