I believe the HO VP44 on Piers website is for the ETH trucks. It is not a higer output VP44 than the two versions that are available comerically for the ETC/ETH trucks.

DD has a high output pump that they are working on. The last I heard it was being tested on various trucks and word on the street was that it was way expensive due to the machine work required. I don't think you will find anyting about it on their webpage either.

Correct..... one pump is for ETC motors and the other is for the ETH motors.

The problem that makes it expensive is you would most likely want to do it to a brand new pump vs using an old one that your unsure of the condition. SO generally figure one brand new pump to start with. And once its machined..... there goes any kind of warranty..... so its kind of a catch 22, I can understand why DD is reluctant to just start selling them outright.

Meaning, it'll cost $10k to convert a 24 valve to a P7100 pump? I think it can be done much cheaper than that. Mitchell told me he could, and I've seen one done at Enterprise. Dan Scheid also quoted me a decent price. Both were way under 5k. I'd say $5k maximum, allowing for the little B. S. incidentals that getcha every time.

Fuel lines ain't cheap, they're like $75 + each.

I agree with Briar Hopper

Last year at Scheid's, I was quoted somewhere around $3k for all the pieces. If my VP44 craps out after the warranty is up, that is the route I'm taking(I miss my 12V:( ).

Set aside a chunk of money to get a new 215 hp pump and to rework it. Might get all that done for $5K if labor is real cheap and if the worker knows how to do all the right upgrades. . . maybe you will get what you pay for???Who wants to do the conversion and not have the P pump maxed out correctly?

The price I was quoted was not for the install, just the pieces. I also wasn't told if that was for a new P7100 or a rebuilt unit, but I personally wouldn't drop $5K on a P7100 no matter who reworked it (I would be happy with a TST plate & gov. spring kit). :)
