DBond, sorry for not responding to you sooner, been out of the loop for a while. The Cooper ST's worked OK in the snow and mud and good on wet surfaces when new. Had no problems on the drive to Montana and back. However on ice they are not as good as I had hoped. With a heavy vehicle they tend to slip a great deal. More factory siping (sp?) would help. A local dealer wanted to charge me an additional fee to "sipe" the tires. Good tread wear. They do make the truck handle better on and off pavement. I would like to see them made in a LT 285/70/17 E size though.

Tires...

If anyone is interested I just took Delivery on a 2005 2500 4x4 and I currently have 472 miles on it... I am going to remove the tires in two weeks. They are Michelin 265/70R17E... If anyone is interested in a price negotiation please send me a Per message...

Thanks for the update.

I wonder if the Cooper ATR might be good. It has a lot of sipes, but a less "agressive" tread pattern. It doesn't "look" like a great snow or mud tire, but maybe as good as the ST's if they are just an OK.

I plan on traveling on forest service roads year round, as well as highway travel with a camper in the bed. Not real mud, but snow.
