If You Bought The Afe Intake For 2004.5, 600 Did You Get It To Fit?

Word is that the AFE air intake system for 2003-2004 does not fit on the 2004. 5, 600 motor. Apparently the frame is too tall and hits the hood. Also the bottom of the AFE system runs into a AC line. AFE claims they will have a new unit out in a month for the 2004. 5.

Too Tall

Same problem here. I got the AFE kit and went to install it, and the da** thing was too tall. It hits the hood by a good inch.



I just cut it down to fit, but I was a little pi**ed. I was just glad I didn't slam the hood down.

This is true. One of our local members (Sarge) had his 04. 5 down at AFE for the testing of the new design. Should be out very soon.

Just got an email from Eric Griffith at AFE. He stated that the intake system is being developed now, and is to be released in 60-90 days. Should be available July/August.

I have one now and it causes the left side of the hood to sit up a little. I will trim it down so I can close the hood as it should be. I will just get another guard when it available. No problems with my ac lines and the system works like a champ.
