A Toyota with a Cummins

Whoops, wrong company!

I'll take a Toyota with a diesel, I can't believe there isn't enough interest in the states for Toyota to offer something. I see they are offered for the rest of the world in a diesel configuration, must be emmission certifications or some other high dollar pain in the rear that is keeping them away. Or maybe its the oil dealers in bed with the politicians that don't want a 40 MPG rig running around and cutting fuel sales in half. Oh well, wait and wish. All it would take is a foriegn named company to make a success using a diesel in a mid-size rig and everyone would be on the bandwagon. Think about how far all 3 Detroit names have come with performance from initial offerings and I bet the smaller engine would be far and above the slugs that Toyota offered in the 80s'

Shoot I would even take a Dakota if they could bring the mileage up @ 30 or so with a diesel.

That on the 2nd 4x4 gen trucks like my '02 that they would had a real steering setup and not seem like you are driving a worn out school bus, the steering is so slow you have to turn it nearly 1/2 a turn b4 anything happens

A 5 speed auto transmission capable of holding 600hp 1200lbs stock. Cure for Vp44 and lift pump issues. I have no complaints on the rest of the truck especially compared to the last 4 Chevies I've owned. The 2 guys that I hunt with have had more trouble with their Toy trucks than my chevies. No thanks on the Toy. And their mid 90ish Toyota's have more rust than my old 75 GMC farm truck.

I think I would only need 1 wish ,and that would be for DC to get back into the big truck market and bring back an updated version of the Bighorn with a 600 Cummins..... well maybe 2 wishes:rolleyes:  ... ..... john

DC already is in the big truck market. They own Freightliner. I believe they also own Western Star, too.

Would like to see jacob exhaust brake standard on all CTD with factory EGT/Boost/Trans Temp gauges.

Could then be fully integrated in PCM so brake would close when temp of exhaust drops and work with cruise control etc. Might be good for emissions, keep the EGR off for a few more years.
