The International CXT features the legendary International ® DT 466 diesel engine with a horsepower rating of 220 hp and 540 lb. ft. of torque capable of hauling or towing pretty much anything you can put into or behind it. Other horsepower ratings are also available. With an electronically controlled turbocharger and four valves per cylinder, the engine delivers responsiveness, acceleration, outstanding fuel efficiency, extended serviceability and long-term durability. Among businesses for whom the International CXT is ideal: construction, lawn care businesses, lawn and garden stores, brick or stone contractors, home builders, carpenters, landscape designers, roofers, home improvement companies, auto body repair or custom paint shops, commercial boating businesses and boat racers.

Sounds more than a little underpowerd to me :-laf

I saw one of those trucks on the street a few days ago... what jumped out at me was the front diff... a semi size truck that has a 4x4 set-up :)

"Outstanding Fuel Efficiency"

I read in the USA Today article it gets 9 to 10 MPG. I would hate to see what happens to those numbers in the truck with a non-outstanding fuel efficient motor. Atleast my 600 does better than 10MPG.

My brother used to haul custom vans with a DT466 at the 220 HP rating. With 3 full size vans on a 50" trailer it got 6 MPG. The trouble with intertrashinal is they like to gear the axles to deep most of the time. You have pulling power but little top end.

They ought to go back to making scouts and travel-alls. They got out of the SUV business a couple years too soon. a small, v-8 powered, indestructable new scout would be nice.

Ok, how long before someone makes an SUV version out of one and uses it like a big Limo. Appearing in the next RAP video no doubt. Wasn't there a website with fake big rig type SUVs? I think were almost there ... .

I looked at a 4 door pete at a farm show recently. I'd rather have that with a custom hauler bed then a dinky little pickup bed on an oversized truck. Or an FL70 (or something similar) w/ an 8. 3

Nice concept. I'd buy one, along with a fleet of other cars/trucks to fill the void that this truck leaves (along with a new pair of pants to fix the hole that it burned in my pocket).

Why go with a pickup bed though? The tailgate must be something like 5 or 6 feet high and a real pain to get anything in or out off.

Underpowered is an under statement! With those numbers and a curb weight of something I'm guessing well over 12k lbs --- surely doesn't leave too much room to pull anything no matter what gears you put in those axles. I'd go with a Ram 4500 or 5500 (hint, hint) and the new Cummins 600 anyday! At least you know you'd be able to chip a Cummins. What's available aftermarket for a Int. ?

"The legendary International®DT 466 diesel engine provides up to 6 tons of hauling power. "

Can't be... . most of our Dodge trucks can do this!

I like it. Put a Cummins in front of the Allison and I'll buy it as soon as some heretofore unknown relative leaves me enough money. Gotta have enough left over for a liftgate though.

The specs say it has a maximum speed of 80 MPH! I drive at least 80 most of the time. WHat a joke!

I doubt its HP/TQ limited but rather by rpm's or maybe even governed by the ECM to meet certain DMV guidelines because of its weight (?). Either way, still a joke.

OFF TOPIC: What ever happened to Ford's concept of the big & badest (maybe not bad) Tonka version of their heavy duty? I'd sooner buy that and swap out the engine for a Cummins before handing out the money for this thing. Or better yet just buy a real severe duty truck and not the scaled down civilian version as shown here.
