Ok for you guys who've had/put new injectors in your beast...

Anyone who knows my truck will tell you that you can eat off the engine block. Its in near showroom condition. I check stuff regularly under there so this really surprised me.

I was tiddling under the hood on Fri nite and guess what I found.

On the intake manifold just back of the charge air inlet/heater block is a bracket that holds injector lines in place.

I was 'makin the rounds' with my trusty socket/ratchet and found that the bolts that hold the bracket in place were loose.

REALLY LOOSE, as in 4 full turns before starting to snug up. :--) :--)

That made me wonder... have any of you guys checked your intake manifold bolts? Is your boost what it should be?

Since tightening them up I have a couple psi more boost, and alot less smoke during boost buildup (midrange to WOT).

Sooooo the means MORE FUEL -------->> Oo.

Anyway, I just thought I'd throw that out for what it's worth, you never know what else might need snuggin up right???

Did you put your injectors in or did someone else.

It is not uncommon for them to remove the bolts on the fuel lines on top of the intake. If so, maybe they put the bolts back in but never tightened them up. I have watched people do this and I do it, but I haven't seen anyone not tighten them.

I think it was me. I went round under the hood after I did the injectors and must have forgot to snug those ones up. I gained enough from the injectors that I didn't even notice the slight loss of boost from the loose bolts.

DUH !!
