I shut the truck off, all electrical and accessories go off, but the engine continues to idle? Have to stuff it in gear and let the clutch out while standing on the brakes to get it shut down.
I am pretty sure about this but you might want to check the fuel shutoff solenoid/relay, these are fairly common problems, if you want to do the work yourself i would suggest buying the service manual. .
Which truck?? If it is the 12 valve you just bought, the solenoid can be removed, then clean the plunger & bore. They get full of dirt and moisture, then stick.
Left side of engine, near the afc cover you just put back on. The plunger is hooked to a lever with a pin. Two small bolts, 10mm I think, to take it off. The plunger is spring loaded so it will push up as you loosen the bolts.
