 I have a 2001. 5 HO manual trans. The engine won't turn off with the key. The dash cluster stays on, as if to start, with the key off and removed, and engine still running. Have to dump clutch to kill engine. Engine will re start with key as of normal. Also a loss of power while driving. Good pressure. Disconnected the batteries to shut off dash. Can't get any codes with key, it doesn't go to an OFF mode. Any one have any ideas ??? May be ignition switch is Bad ??

Unsettling isn't it?

The loss of power may be a different symptom.

Inclined to go with Road Dog unless everything else in your truck shuts off (radio, dash, gauges) when you go to key off and remove.

The loss of power may be a different symptom. Get the ignition fixed first.
The ignition switch assembly is not that hard to change out, of course I have never done one on a Dodge yet so I may be lying.

Its not dieseling, Radio does turn off and I get the start chime, ABS check, engine grid heat lite, while off and idling . . I can drive down the road ok just sluggish, with or without the key on. Anyone change key / ignition switch ? Napa availability ??

Living in Central Sierras , NO power (RV generator) going on 6 days, heavy snow event with a lifetime of down firewood to cut and also fix the truck... Thanks
