If I understand diesel technology correctly, there is no ignition system in our trucks, therefore no ignition wire. I think it's all done with smoke and mirrors (and maybe fuel).

SFord, if you are looking for a source to power gauges or similar needs and want a wire that is hot when the key is on, what I did is use my meter. I have the service manual but the easiest way (for me at least) was to open my fuse panel and find a hot source with the key on and then turn off the key to ensure it is gone. Gauges etc. don't take much current, some are taking it off of the power window circuit since that's only hot with the key on. I believe the power window wires are tan if I remember correctly.

Cool Fuse Tap

When I installed my Diesel Performance Propane Injection, they sent some very useful fuse taps that slides under/around the fuse and sticks out so you can hook a wire to it.

Had no idea what these were for when I saw them at Auto Zone, but now I use them when I want to tap a fuse box if I can't tap it other ways. BTW... You can get these for the glass fuses and the ones like in our dodges and the bigger ones like ours.
