Cold start feature for a 4BT?

I am still trying to figure out why that site even exist. They try to shut down anything that they don't like. :-{} :-{}

Yep that is the mindset of that crowd,don't want to here or learn about there "great" trucks. rather pull the covers over their heads than learn to stick together and fix any problems!

That engine sure must be picky, they're talking about going from a 195° to a 203° stat, claiming it's good for 1. 5-2 mpgs.

And some of them are already wanting chips. Man,with that babys track record,I'd leave it bone stock. I'm sure ford will take any way out of that warranty :rolleyes: ... Doug

I love visiting that Ford site, it's always good for a laugh. They bicker amongst themselves a lot. Maybe they should split their forums into two: one for the good stuff and one for the bad. Those who always want to only hear rosy stuff can go to the one while those with problems can go to the other.

I looked and I did a bad thing, showwed my sig, made the post under my old handle. After see a couple of other TDR members, I just had to do it. Just had to say that I wasn't the only one slumming.

I think that's already been done. The TDR site and the Dieselstop site!:-laf

Yep..... and do this to the engine too supposedly... :D

"The problem with this is this thermostat is shorter and doesn't close off the cooling system bypass when the thermostat is fully open so you don't get correct flow through the engine. The rear of the engine may be overheating while the front is running cool or normal and since the temp sender is in the front of the engine the operator will never realize until too late that the engine is overheating(this is what killed Dennis' engine). "

Got this off the Dieselstop site obviously... . Half overheat and half cold/normal?!?!?! :--) Want to start a pool on how long the engine lasts? Oo. Oo. :D

Last time I started a pool on how long a persons pickup would last (friends brand new '03 Toyota Tacoma) I guessed that it would be totalled within three weeks. Two weeks later he did $12,000 worth of damage to it, and it now sits in the chop shop basically being rebuilt new. 562 miles on it... I felt both bad and good at the same time (I mean, I won the pool and all, but he did really destroy his pickup)... oh, slow rollover, no injuries, no big deal, just a hurt ego.
