i have a industrial injection silver 62/14 and was wondering if someone else has this turbo on there 12 valve. I can run down the road at 75 (not towing just empty) and have no boost at all. It builds 40 pounds and more if wastegate blocked but just driving down the road it doesn't have any boost. lots of smoke so fuel is there, and no leaks just did a test for that. any ideas or someone else with this turbo let me know cause II says it is to big for my setup and needs to have more fuel. I have only ran the twins on my 06 and i run about 12 down the road at 75 with them. (not towing just empty). with stock turbo i would run 5 psi at 75 on the 12 valve. thanks for the help!

is no one eles running this turbo what about a bigger one like the 66 do you have boost at 75 or even 55 runing down the road in cruse?

sorry to hijack this thread, but i´m interested I. I. ´s silver 62 or 64. do i have enough fuel for these turbos?maybe ddp4´s in future. current mods in sig,i don´t tow anything. e-mailed to i. i. few days ago,but no reply yet. .

I've run a few chargers on my 98: hx35 with 14cm housing, htt 62/14, sps62, sps66 and the Silver Bullet, back to sps62 now. At highway speeds, just maintaining speed on level ground there is almost no boost pressure at all. The sps62 i am running now is about 2psi at 60-65mph, light throttle.

Does the truck run right? Is the only issue that the cruise boost is lower? that will be expected with the bigger s300 chargers and the silver series use a 74mm wheel which move a lot more air on top. you can't really compare the stock charger to the silver. 30psi from an hx35 is not the same as 30psi from a silver62.

I don't like the "silver" turbine on a 12v... especially w/ a stock cam and unported head

the 71mm "super" wheel is borderline IMO if you're at high altitude

with that said, I've tried a number of turbos, like Dave, and I love the sps62 that's on my 98... I ran it on my previous 98 also :)

Cody,

I run that II SB 62 right now. I run about 6 lbs of boost with my current set up. I was told 6-60 mph was good.

I've got much bigger injectors BUT I moved the AFC a modified housing back & the star wheel back as well. :-{}

I trust this will help.

not really a problem i just never seen a turbo not run boost at 2200 rpm and 70 my truck is not as spunky as i would have thought but mabey it is some to do with gearing. i have 4:10's going in today and i run a 34 tire with stock 3. 54's and tow heavy as well. i just wondered about everyone elses boost numbers. II said that a ps 62/14 would be the best for my setup and a silver is for 550 hp im at 400 aprox not dyno since new injectors and adjustment's to the plate. i just wonder why anyone would be at 550 hp and not go to a 66 or something bigger than a 62/14 at least. i don't know but the advertisement they run on it claims to be better than the phat shaft and i wish i had of just saved some money and got the cheaper turbo.

CodySanders,

I'm at 502 hp right now, but I'm working on the next level of increase.

I think your gearing is wrong for your long trips.

My 3:73 is fantastic for my combo.

Have you done any AFC mods ? This may be the area to work on.

The next call to the boys at II will be better with more info.

i have a new spring and have messed with the plate and the housing also the star even with light spring and all the way out i have smoke but not road blocking just limiting smoke. i did a test on my fuel pressure today and with my autometer gauge it is 50 and drops to 40. so i put a manual gauge and it is 15 drops to 5. i feel this may be the problem? i belive that 40 to 45 is the norm and 30 a min. so i will call fass and have them send me a correct return spring. i had some issues with the fass pump being the wrong one and i got the right pump now but still have the wrong spring so i guess this might improve things. any comments appreciated.

gears went in and all i can say is wow. the turbo lights quicker less smoke and i can really use 5th gear now it was almost useless before. i am happy with the turbo now and like the top end cool down. my egt's just go down the more rpms i run. still haven't fixed the fuel pressure but that will be tomarrow.
