I have to turn up the wastegate, I think that'll help with egt's and then maybe I can run some larger injectors.

I'm sure Brett may mention the same thing but more boost does not always equal more HP, cooler EGT's, or more "fresh" air. I'm curious to hear if it is efficient above 45psi.

I think the biggest prob with the stock hx-35 is not the lack of air going in but the lack of flow going out. Now that it is cold-cooler denser air going in-with my mach 4s and power puck if I roll into it the smoke isn't that bad after 2000,with the elbo set to peak at 30-32 And the power is ok enough to slip the stocker clutch after it gets warm.

Can't imagine what it would be like with a comp and 4s and stock hx-35. I think a hy with the 9cm would be unthinkable with all this fuel!

I don't even want to get started about that, my HX35 is very disturbed with the box on... ... ... ... . I mainly drive box off, because I just need it to stay together a little longer.

Corey glad to hear that all is coming together, I am sorry to hear that you are having problems again though... ... ... . kind of a strange statement huh? Anyway, glad the turbo is working for ya, sorry to hear you have another problem though... ... ... . there that is a little better.

Got the 64 on last night. Need a couple days to get familar with it's characteristics but it things seem very promising. Spool is a lot better than the 66 and temps are ~same. I'll post back in a few days with more detailed response.

Luke,

Does yours surge at 25psi and up. Mine does, it doesn't matter where the throttle is or where rpm is at. It doesn't do it at wot, but has a bad miss. I have some digging to do, but I'm thinking that the miss and surge are caused by the same problem.

Jim- you gotta get the 66 on you'll be all  :D

Oh and mine is a SPS64, not a PS64.

Corey

Actually, I think it surges less than my 66 did. Definitely doesn't bark near as bad. It seems better than the 66 in every way at this point. Keep in mind I'm at 6000' so what works for me may not be right for someone at sea level. Initial findings seem to show this thing will start building boost around 1600 and by 1800 it is off to the races. The 66 would flat out dog it until 2000 before it did much of anything. Like I said I still have to get accustom to it but so far so good. I will give a shout out to all the guys at Industrial Injection who worked hard to try and figure out a configuration that would work for my setup. Not an easy task trying to run Mach6s and a Comp at 6000' with a big single. Seems like they might have come pretty close to nailing it with this 64 Shane built.

But does it surge constantly or only at a certian RPM range? Mine surges over 25psi no matter what rpm or throttle position unless I'm at wot, then I have a bad miss. I have a problem with my truck and I'm trying to eliminate possibilities. Thanks,

Corey

Hmmm again I've only had it on for a day so not completely used to it yet. I would say it surges a smidgen when you are going through that 15-25psi range. Seems like it's a pretty narrow band that is hard to hit when driving unloaded. The 66 would stutter pretty good when you were pouring the coals to it and it was transitioning from low to high boost levels. I don't know how old your 64 is but mine is one Shane just figured out a couple weeks ago. He said they had a lot of problems with surge on the 64s but thought they had figured out a decent configuration. Seems to work well for me so far...

Mine is the same as yours, supposed to be surgeless. Mine was the 1st one they sent out after they figured it out. I just got it on last sunday. It doesn't have any surge until after 25 psi then it surges like crazy. I don't necissarily think it's the turbo though, I think I may have another problem that's causing the surge. Thought I may have a bent valve, but nobody seems to think it could happen without a reason. I guess there is a reason, it's my luck... If I ever have any it always seems to be bad.

I couldn't stand it any longer and ordered a ps62 today I will post how it runs soon! I am going from stock so I gota fight with the downpipes but stay tuned.

I have an II ps 62/14 on the way, should be here pretty soon, but i dont get to work on it till thanksgiving break. Im going from stock turbo and exhaust with comp to the ps62, 4" cool duals, and jammer four injectors, so im sure i will have a lot of change going on at once. Will post in a week or so when it i get it all done. Any good tricks to doing any of the above metioned tasks i should know about before tackling it?? Thanx guys!

Be sure and pull the oil return all the way off. First check the clearance between the WG rod and the pipe by blowing the WG open and shut with shop-air to make sure it dosn't rub too bad if it does it might hang the WG open and cause crappy Performance or worse hang it shut and Grenade the charger, and use a little RTV high temp on it and tourque it just right. I ripped my new gasket trying to hook it up with the turbo on and the pipe still clamped to the motor and had to use my old gasket, Well the old one didn't seal good enough and I have a bad oil drip now and am about to pull it all back apart. Arghg!

Im not ready to give My full report on my turbo-PS62 because im slipping the clutch when it spools good. But Shane @ II was very good to deal with and answered all my questions and I even had a problem with my debit card having too low a limit, That took several calls to fix and he was still helpful and was glad to spend all the time on the phone to complete the sale and assure my satisfaction. I will post in length about this turbo after I get a clutch that can hold it.
