I just made a deal on a 93 W250, auto, clubcab. It is in ill repair but I think I am up to the task. I have not yet taken possesion, but have a list of problems from the current owner. Trans is out (reverse only), transfer case is stuck in 4HI, front end growls when hubs are locked in (but it still works/spins tires). Other than that there is just slight body damage. I have done some 727's and quite a few 47re rebuilds, the trans should not be a problem, just have a few questions on non lockup and what parts to replace to get the power down. I have also done axle rebuild on D44's, so the 60 and 70 should not be too much of a problem, will have someone setup ring and pinon if I go that far. What about the trans case, it is a 205 right? How tough is a rebuild, any idea what the problem is? Looking forward to rebuilding this truck, I have 76 crew cab with a near perfect cab on it, this might be a long rebuild. Will the body lines from the 93 front fenders match up with the 76 doors? I have been doing some searches, and have already answered a few of my questions, just wanted chat with you 1st gen guys. I sold my 91 D250 in June of 99, it was a great truck and I have wanted another since.
