It's midnight, but I have to share this with someone...

Back in January I stripped my parts and sold my '03. I leased an Audi A4 Avant thinking I would get great fuel economy and be happy as a clam. It was my first car in over 10 years, and thought I would dig the cange.

I couldn't have been more wrong! I disliked that car from the first two weeks that I had it. I think I'm just not a car guy.

So tonight on the way to do some errands I caught a glimpse of a white sport sitting on a Dodge dealer's lot. On the way home from our errands my girlfriend and I stopped in and took a look.

Not two hours earlier she saw a 2500 QC 4x4 with an exhaust and said to me in a sad voice "I wish we had our truck back. "

We checked out the '07. We drove it. Negotiated. Now it's in my car port. I couldn't be more excited. It's an '07 3500 QC 4x4 Sport, and I got it for invoice minus rebates. Not the best deal, but ok in my eyes. My girlfriend wasn't too sad, as we ended up trading her Jetta in on it. She now drives the Audi. Win-Win.

I wonder how long it will remain stock???

I'm thinking gauges > lift pump/filter setup (Glacier maybe, didn't like my FASS 150) > Smarty > Intake & Exhaust > who knows? I've got plenty of time to think. I can't afford much besides the fuel for a bit :-laf

Good to be driving a CTD again!!!

I tried something similar myself. I went for a Subie WRX, I put 3000 miles on it, just couldn't wrap my arms around the little bugger. I needed a truck fix, even tried a 2500 Hemi for a while but that again wasn't enough. I am soooo glad to be back in a CTD for the last few months. This latest one is my first six speed, love it, and the first I have done any mods on, love it.

Welcome back!

Thanks guys! I feel at home again. I love the product knowledge and information gained on this forum. The guys on the Audi forums are a bunch of uneducated, um, gentlemen. Yeah, right, that's it...

sid325- 48RE this time around! I love the auto. I wish I had the funds to build it right away, but it's going to have to wait. Maybe we'll see each other at the next dyno day?

Congrats to you and the little woman, I can see you from here Oo. Oo.

We were thinking about you two just a couple weeks ago on our way to Ponci's was hoping you'd show, it's been to long! I hear there is a event down in Hollister in Oct. , I think it's a Ford sponsered event at a dealership... . wanna go show em' you don't need a V-8 . Take care bud

I got the "bug" too! We were on vacation at Lake Tahoe and saw an ad for Carson Dodge. They said they had 100 5. 9s in stock. Went down and they had 10. I wanted a six speed manual so it was harder to find. I found one in Sacramento and we bought it. NOW I need to move up to the THIRD Gen forum from the SECOND gen forum. I love it that it is Q U I E T! My 01. 5 with the mild mods had quite the Diesel Rattle!!

I think (HOPE) I made the right decision to upgrade to the newer truck.

Will any of the parts brett took of your old one work on the new one?

I was able to re use my airbags, BD x-mon, and a couple of other little things.

It was the right move for sure. Just make sure one of your first mods after gauges is a Smarty!

I pretty much sold everything except the never-installed fender liners, a couple of filters, and my Prodigy. Oh well, at least I get to start over knowing what I learned with my '03.
