Where to get a Unagoose

Trip, Texas to New York

I have BFG All terrain 315/70/17 on the truck and have had them for about 17k miles. They seem to wear fast when I tow with them. Is anybody else having the same problem. I will have to replace them in the next couple of months and I haven't even had them for a year :(

I don't know cause all I have ever towed with is the 315s on this truck. It feels fine but at the same time I have nothing to compare it to. As for power with 315s it is no problem... I can go way faster then I need too.

If your using an 8 inch rim it may be partially the reason. It causes the sidewall to bulge slightly and if you are running the maximum air pressure in the tires, You will see the center of the tires wear faster.

I have 315/75r17's on 9 inch wide rims. This creates no bulging and my tires are wearing nice and even. I've got about 18K on mine and have had them for a little over a year.

I also run about 55PSI in the front and 50 psi in the rear.

You got too much squirmy rubber between the tire carcass and the pavement. Creates a lot of friction which is converted to heat. While the tread moves around, it is scuffing on the gravel used to harden the asphalt. Millions of little knives down there to shorten tread life.

Harder compounds and stiffer tread designs don't squirm near so much. Hence they last longer.
