I found a white 3/4t 2wd reg cab long bed 121k

price was 4750. talked him down to $4000;):D:D

It has a problem with the heater switch assy(no fan or ac function at all... ichecked the fuses) and the speedo. the odo works fine but the speedo jumps around a lot.

I'm hoping you guys will tell me how to fix it.

I need something to get me around so I can work on my '01 more. 600+hp just ain't enough:rolleyes::D

There is a fuseable link under the hood that controls the blower & some other acc. As for the AC, it might be low on freon. You can by pass the low pressure switch by the firewall. If the Compressor starts, check for leaks and proper freon level. NOTE only bypass pressure switch long enough to see compressor start, DO NOT leave it by passed, in a very short time you will most likely wipe out your compressor. As for the speedo, the speed sensor on the trans, is shot.

I would take the speed/distance sensor apart and clean it up good and also clean the electrical connection - did this on my 92 and now no more problems.

Well,

I drove it from Ft Worth to Lindsay, OK last night. 160 mi between fill ups and 6. 5 gal of fuel... . 24. 5 MPG :--):--):--)

I'll look into the heater first. the speed o may be a connection at the the speedo. the odometer is reading fine which makes me think any cables or sensors are functioning. I'll check it out today or tomorrow.

Thanks,

Mark

It looks like it is a fusable link. I checked voltage to the fuse box and got nothing(0v) on that circuit. If i juper to it the AC and fan come on.

the wire is a black w pink or orange tracer(it's old and hard to tell). I haven't been able to trace it to the engine compartment yet.

Anybody know where I should look first?
