I'm confused and maybe you guys can help. My new 2013 mega cab says in the owners manual that the fuel, water separators need to be changed at a specific mileage but which filters? Even Genos say the frame mounted is just a water separator but the owners manual says it is both. Do they need to be changed at the same time? The other thing is the oil filter? Do I come in from underneath , there's a plastic cover that is loose but will not come out that covers the access to the filter or do I come in from the top and thus take off a bunch of the intake system. I don't trust any dealer to do what is necessary because of past experiences. Thanks, Brett

Change both fuel filters. The plastic cover has a spout to drain oil if you spill some taking off the filter. Access the oil filter from above; easier if you remove the air intake hose going from the filter box to the turbo inlet.

The frame fuel filter is just a spin on with a water sensor on the bottom. It is a filter and water separator. Easy to change. Just need a strap wrench for 4 1/4 " +. I did mine both at 14500 miles even though the fuel filter minder gauge said I had 30% left.

Thanks guys for your help. I'm not going to make it for May madness this year and with the new truck I'm sure I will have more questions as time goes buy. Brett
